18th Century Villa in Santa Margherita Ligure

The Main Villa

The Main Villa

Like in a painting, the large façade of Villa Durazzo appears beyond the typical italian gardens that surround it, almost as to prevent it from indiscrete glimpses.

In Santa Margherita Ligure overlooking the sea of the picturesque gulf of Tigullio, stands the historic complex of Villa Durazzo. It includes two large villas, Villa Durazzo and Villa san Giacomo, surrounded by a centuries-old park full of beautiful plants and trees. Built in 1678, by the marquis Gio Luca Durazzo, the complex was sold in the 19th century to the Centurione Family and then to the Chierichetti Family. From 1973 the Villa has become a property of the city of Santa Margherita Ligure. Both villas have wide rooms and spectacular terraces which are the ideal place for wedding receptions and banquets, gala dinner, cocktails and civil ceremonies. Villa San Giacomo, smaller and romantic, has a wonderful view over the Italian Garden. Villa Durazzo, wider and monumental, is the best for big receptions; on the noble storey there is the magnificent "Salone degli Stucchi" and the “Loggiato Mare” where the weddings of the pop star Rod Stewart and of the soccer star Wayne Rooney have recently been celebrated. For the elegant and discreet atmosphere, the two villas are also an exclusive place for conferences, seminars and workshops. In the great romantic park it’s possible to organize exhibitions, photo shoot and films.
